Happy November friends! It's time for a new challenge, and since this is the time of year we get in the kitchen and bake and cook, I thought it would be fun to apply a recipe to a new challenge as well. Here it is, and it's a biggie!
2 sheets of card stock
3 sheets of pattern Paper
1 ribbon
1 twine
4 stickers
2 different alphas (thickers or stickers)
A pinch of stitching
A dash of rub ons
a smidgen of fabric
Simply apply the recipe to your LO and share it with us, so we can see how your creation turned out. This is running from today through Nov. 25th, so be sure to join in!

The Sneak Peek Challenge

Inspiration Board Challenge prize!

I know most of us are already on Pinterest, which is a wonderful place to draw inspiration for all areas of your life. It is so great to be able to make your own inspiration boards for various categories, and then go back and see them all looking back at you in one spot. I LOVE IT! If you aren't already on then get signed up, and if you need an invitation then just leave me a comment with your email and I will be happy to send you one!
Anyway, I just love gaining inspiration for scrapping from places other than "scrapping" blogs or magazines. I really like to think outside the box sometimes. I grabbed this already complete inspiration board from the Creature Comforts Blog, which is another really beautiful place on the web to browse around. I love their color/texture combinations, and when I saw this one I was instantly in love. :) So this is your inspiration board for the new challenge! Take a look and draw your own interpretations.

They Say It's Your Birthday Challenge!

Is it just me, or does it seem like 90% of the population was born between April and June? I know it's not really true, but it sure seems like it around my house! This got me to thinking that is was about time to do a birthday challenge.
I always love checking out the adorable home made birthday decorations that my crafty friends create. They posses so much more charm than the store bought stuff, and it's a great way to use up your not so favorite papers. So use this opportunity to show us your decor, or scrap a birthday past, or make some birthday cards! Some of my favorite LO's are of the boys birthday parties! There is nothing like a candle blowing shot to make for a fun LO! :)

The "I love" challenge.

Do any of you remember this song from the 70's called "I love" from Tom T. Hall? I have it on a cd that my kids and I listen to in the car and I thought it was a perfect inspiration piece for our next challenge! If you haven't heard it here is a video with all the words.

The challenge is to document the things that you most "love". I just love the way that he sums up all of the things that make him happy in this life in just about 2 minutes. These are the things that define us and make us who we are. They also unite us, in commonalities. I would guess that most of us would have to list scrapbooking as a "love."

It Takes Two Challenge

Hi everyone! I am finally back with the new challenge. Sorry for the delay. We went to visit family this weekend and when we got home I went to turn on my computer to check emails, etc...and the computer would not turn on. Which led to a three day ordeal of trying to fix it, then buying a new one, then trying to get all the files recovered and installed on the new computer. ACK! Anyway, I am back up and running now!

A few weeks ago we had a crop over on the message board and Amy came up with a super fun challenge for that, which I thought we would carry over here! It's the "It takes two" challenge...

All you have to do is follow the rule of twos. ;)
Anything you put on your LO you have to put two of. So that means if you are using Patterned Papers, then you must use two and only two. (Tip: Definitely pick double sided papers as you get more to work with that way!)
Or if you are using Metal in some way (brads, stick pins, plaques, or flair buttons....), then you must use two pieces of metal, and only two. Does that all make sense? :D I hope so!

Happy New Year Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. We had a really nice time, hanging out at home, visiting family and friends, playing games, and spending a day in the snow. I really enjoyed it, but I have to admit, I am glad to be getting back to the "normal" routine around here.

Today we have a great challenge for you all. It's called the "She Get's Misty" challenge for a very good reason, you have to get misty, or spritzy, or shimmerzy on your work. :) Just spray a little, or a lot, depending on your level of confidence. I know over on the MB we have been talking a bit about this and some people seem to really love it, and some people are scared of it. I have to admit, I am not the most experienced mister...but when i do it, I end up really liking the results.

"The Gift" Challenge

Tis' the season friends! I thought it would be really fun to start this month off, not only with a fun challenge, but also with a fun prize...or two! So let's get started.
First up, the challenge. This is "The Gift" challenge. We want you to scrap about an all time favorite gift you, or a loved one, received and why it was so dear. You can either scrap an actual wrapped gift, something Santa brought, something you gifted yourself. Or you can go the route of a gift of another sort...meaning a lesson learned, learning a skill (maybe music lessons), or your grandmother passing down her love of sewing. You get the idea. It is your layout and your "gift" to scrap as you like.

Shades of the Same Challenge

Happy Monday guys! Are you ready for a new challenge? Well, strap on your boots and get ready for a fun one! This is called the "Shades of the Same" challenge. This is going to be quite a challenge, because you have to try to keep your papers all in the same color scheme. Kind of tricky, right?!? But have no fear, while it sounds hard, once you get it all complete you will be surprised at how effective, and beautiful, one color can be.
Choose your color to evoke the emotion of the photos or mood you are wanting to convey. To me Blue evokes "cool", Yellow evokes energy. White evokes a sort of "dreamy" feel and also a clean feel. Play around and see what you get. Here is a handy website that may be of some help in choosing what color you want to pick.

The "Time Capsule" Challenge

Happy Monday everyone! The TV title challenge was a super fun one. I hope you enjoyed that and got some inspiration from the music and the design team.

Yesterday was a special day that happens only every one hundred years. It was 10/10/10. This got us to thinking about doing a "time capsule" layout/project about what daily life is like right now. What is the price for a car and a home? What movies and music are popular? Who is a famous athlete or actor? These are all answers that will be different at any other point in history before or in the future. So the challenge here is to document what is going on now. Something you can look back on (or family members can look back on), and get a real sense of "how life was".

It's time for a new challenge and this is a really fun one. Sometimes doesn't it feel like your life could be an episode on TV? I know I for one often find myself thinking that. :) At any rate, this challenge is to use the title of a TV show as the title to your LO. You can modify it, as Jill did below in her title "Law and Dis-Order", to fit your situation, but if you do please be sure to let us know what show you are referencing.

"I Gotta Be Me" challenge

Morning everyone! Thanks so much for all the great Fall Fashion trends LO's. They are fantastic!!

Today we have a VERY simple challenge for you. This is called the "I Gotta Be Me" challenge and is based around a conversation we had on the MB. One of the members asked a question about what people look for as far as getting on teams and being pubbed. I replied with a lengthy description of being true to yourself, having a style all your own and scrapping the way you like. I then went on to define the styles of all the gals on the DT and some of the members who asked me to tell them what I saw as the highlights of their work.

I think this is an important step in any sort of hobby because when you know your style, and are comfortable and happy with where your work is, it will show. And also having your "happy place" that brought you to scrapbooking in the first place is a great place to go when you feel stumped. Not that stretching your wings into trying new styles and techniques isn't fun or important, but knowing what is "you" is fun, and like having that comfy "go to" sweater in your closet...you can always count on it to make you smile.

SOOOO...this challenge is all about being yourself with your work. Just scrap your favorite way. There is no right or wrong way, it is just "YOUR" way. This is running from today through Sept. 24th. Please be sure to add your work and then include a little bit about your favorite way to scrap, we would love to hear about it!

Here are the DT examples and ideas about their way of scrapping:
Amy: Defining my style is literally impossible for me because it changes sooo much with my mood and what particular thing I am scrapping. I have found, though, that I tend to work in color schemes, and in muted tones. Bright colors really don't work very well with me, and lots of different colors make me feel like there is no continuity to the LO. After picking the colors that I want to work with, I usually from there just tend to fly by the seat of my pants! Some LOs I super plan out cause I am going for a certain look, but others (like the one I did here for the challenge!) I really couldn't tell you at all where it is going or when it will be done! Things I lean towards with putting on my LOs are strips of paper-as those give subtle colors to the LO in small amounts, and I am really addicted to my punches as I love shapes on my LOs. I also tend to either do a little painting or machine stitching on my LOs just because I need some serious texture on my LOs! :D

Noel: "When I scrap I like to start with a sketch (this is from Sketch Inspiration #122) because I am not always certain about proportion in my head. When I use a sketch is it much easier for me to scale and size features of my work. I also love to incorporate circles into my work as often as possible. I like how it softens the lines of the photos and squared "frame". As far as techniques, I almost always distress edges and ink. I am also kind of addicted to matting my photos. And one other thing I love to add to my work is stitching (either hand or machine)."

Virginia: When I scrap, I tend to stick to the same design, because it is not really my strength and I start to stress about doing a "great design" and then it ends up all wonky looking! You'll see a lot of layouts from me with a photo (or a strip of three photos) centered or off to the side. My favorite part of scrapping is the embellishing and layering, so that is what I devote most of my energy to. I love to start with a fairly neutral background (kraft, whites, pale yellows, and grays are some of my faves) and then layer with paint or mists, patterned paper in rectangles & squares, ephemera, masking tape, and punched shapes. I love to add lots of distressing with inks & painted-on mists, tearing, and shabby chic/feminine touches. You'll always find some of my own handwriting on my layouts, too. I've had my work described as "haphazard" before and you know what? It fits me. :)

Michelle W:"My style tends to vary based on what photos I'm working with or what papers I'm playing with but for the most part I gravitate towards more of a 'clean' look to my layouts. I sometimes work with sketches or use inspiration from a magazine as a springboard for my pages. Typically my layouts will have 3 photos, 1 larger than the others. I don't start out planning my layouts that way but I always seem to end up with that! I also like to print my photos with a white matte as I think it helps the photos stand out a bit against the papers they're on. And although I don't generally use a ton of 'techniques' in my projects, I almost always distress edges with some type of ink or roughing up some edges and when I can I like to add in something unexpected (like the dictionary page in this layout)."

Jill: I would consider myself to have a shabby chic style with clean lines. I enjoy incorporating ink, paint, distressing and almost always machine stitching on my layouts and projects. I find that I like a more muted color palette but scrapping with bright, fun colors (especially in the summer) is growing on me. I lean towards more things girly (makes sense with my two girls) - pink, lace, ruffles, doilies, etc. I adore using kraft cardstock as a background (love that Noel includes a sheet in every kit). It's such a great neutral to contrast other colors. I also always add a white edge to my photos in Photoshop to help them pop off my page.

Diana : "When I sit down to create a layout, I let the papers inspire me. I love to handcut designs out of the papers and include them in my layout. Sometimes I'll sketch out my idea first but my layout hardly ever looks like my sketch. Lately, I like to cluster papers and embellishments around my photos. I am also a big fan on misting and inking. I feel as if my layout is not complete unless I add a little bit of them to my layout."

Michele K: I tend to be a shabbier vintagey type of scrapper. I love the look of layers, paint, and sewing. One of the things I find to be most fun with scrapping is trying different techniques and mediums. I love the experimentation that goes along with scrapping! I've used goofy itemss like coffee grounds for various things, recycling clothing, tissue paper, and other miscellaneous household items. Today's LO uses a fun embossing, stamping, Glimmer Mist resist technique to create these butterflies.

Candice: When I start any scrapbooking page I tend to go for the bits and pieces of my stash. If I don't have any from the start of a new kit or product I tend to make some. It is in the bunches of little things that my BIG ideas come from. Layering is also a huge factor in my pages. The more layers the more fun!!!

Britt : I tend to go toward the funky. I generally start with the product in mind, rather than any specific photo. I scrap for the art of it, so the design of the product itself is what usually gets me, then I find a picture to go with it. If I use a picture at all! With no kids to scrap, I find myself doing "all about me" layouts a lot, and after so many times of seeing my ugly mug, I just gotta get a break! I find that organizing a layout around a quote/title is a great way of expressing the everyday stuff in life - the stuff we tend to overlook. I love white cardstock the best (although by the time I'm done you can barely tell it's buried beneath all of the other junk on the page!) and I'd be lost without my sewing machine - bring on the stitching!!

Now & Then Challenge

It's such a satisfying feeling to pull out a scrapbook you've made and pour over the pages of photos and memories you've been able to record. I truly believe there is no such thing as a "wrong" way of scrapbooking, but let's face it . . . once in awhile we make a page that just didn't turn out the way we wanted it to. Maybe we were in a hurry, maybe the colors we chose at the time didn't compliment our photos, maybe we spelled something wrong . . . ??? Whatever the reason, we all have those pages. :)

For this challenge, we want you to grab an older layout and redo it using newer products, new title, or whatever. Look at it with new eyes and re-scrap that page. This challenge will run until Friday, August 13th. Link us up to your design, including the page you redid. Have fun!

It's a NO Patterned Paper Challenge (With a Prize)

Let's face it, we all LOVE patterned paper. That is one of the reasons we scrapbook. A lot of people don't "get it", our obsession, so let's try a challegne where there is no pretty paper, only cardstock, stickers, overlays, journaling cards, rub ons, ribbon, etc. Basically you can use anything EXCEPT a sheet of pretty pattern paper.
Now that doesn't mean you can't emulate paper with something else. If you look at our examples below, I bet there will be lots of times when you think "that's PP", but other than overlays, there is no PP down there. Lot's of stamps, stickers, tape, and rub on's, oh yes...and overlays are OK!
This challenge is running from today through July 30th. And I have a PRIZE to give away!! It's a Xyron Create-a-Sticker! Then you can sticker up all your LO's!

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you all had a nice Father's Day weekend. We got home from our big Grand Canyon road trip, so we just spent the weekend recovering, but our trip was AWESOME! If you get a chance to visit the Grand Canyon you really must...it is spectacular!
Today we have a challenge that really is a big challenge for a lot of ladies on the DT. We got into a discussion over on the MB about trends that we never really "got". Someone stated that they never got the "white space" trend...but it was quickly pointed out that this is more of a style than a trend...which led me to think it was time to give it a go!
So this time around it is all about the white space. I still have to get mine done, but I am definately all over this challenge, because I find myself looking at my whole page needing to be covered, so this is something I am looking forward to doing. We all have moms. Many of us in the scrapbooking community, are moms, writing and recording our children's stories. Design Team member, Virginia Tillery, came up with a beautiful challenge paying tribute to MOTHERHOOD. This challenge begins today and runs until Friday, May 21st, 2010.

Watch this short video, and use it as inspiration for the words and images on a layout, as either a tribute to your mom, and the ways she taught you to "write your story," or as a love letter to your kids, and what you want them to carry with them... the essential truths that you want to pass on to them.

The Project Runway Challenge "Make it Work"!

I don't know about you guys...but another show the gals around these parts are *obsessed with* {sing/song voice} is Project Runway! How can you not be?!? And of course my favorite has always been Tim Gunn. I just love his polished presentation. Sometimes I like to think of myself as Tim, especially when it comes to this blog. Of course I don't tell you how to do your work, or what to modify, but giving out the challenge is fun, and I must admit sometime i do use my Tim voice in my head! LOL!

Greta presented this idea when this season of Project Runway started and the object is to take a favorite episode of Project Runway and try a technique, or fabric, or stitching, or whatever and run with it! A few episodes from this season that stick out to me are the "hardware" challenge, where they had to use supplies from the hardware store. The one from this last week, which was to make your own textile, which I could see translating into making your own patterned paper, and the burlap sack challenge, where the designers had to use sacks to create their outfits.
Also, I do envision lots of stitching...but that is me! :)

Virginia (I was inspired by the burlap episode, so I wrapped a canvas in burlap I had from a gigantic coffee bean bag, and used it as the background for my altered clipboard. I decorated the clipboard with items from the Sonoma County kit (including the gorgeous burlap flowers that coordinated with the feel of my piece), along with the Seaside Cottage kit and some things from my own stash.)

Michelle (I decided to use the PR where they made their own textile - I kinda tweaked it and copied the zebra pattern on her pants to the cardstock on the bottom, lots of stitching, fabric use)

Kim (I was inspired by Episode 8... use natural elements. I used pictures of Matthew down by the lake and used embellishments to support the "natural" feel.)

So I think most of us around here are actual paper and glue scrappers, but we all admire the work of digital scrappers, so Jana had a fun idea of "lifting" a digi LO, with traditional paper and glue products!

Lean on Me Challenge

Good Morning! Today we have a challenge all about support. Recently, my grandmother had a stroke, and passed away. I had to ask a lot of my friends and family to help me, both with time management, and with just being there to listen. It really got me to thinking that in times of crisis, or stress, who do we turn to, or lean on, for mental and emotional support.
So I thought scrapping about that subject would be great, as we all have different "outlets" for support.

I don't know about you, but we have a bit of an obsession with the new TV show "Glee". :) Something about it's quirkiness and music just draws us right into it!

We thought it would be fun to do a challenge based off of the show "Glee." If you don't watch it, don't worry! You can still participate! Just follow one or more of the parameters listed below!

The GLEE Challenge

* Use the photo as a sketch
* Use one of the song titles on a layout
* Talk about which Glee character you were in High School
* Use sheet music paper or music notes

Check out the teams' interpretations. Some of us scrapped about high school. Some of us scrapped about ourselves and families right now. There are a lot of different directions you can take on this one. We can't wait to see what you do!

Happy Monday everyone! I know some of you may have the day off of work today...woohoo! Hope you all make the best of it!
We thought that this being January, it would be the prefect time to post the "Something new" challenge! Time to try something in your crafting that you never have before. Have you admired a technique and always wanted to try it, do you have software actions or applications that you have been meaning to play with but felt overwhelmed, a new product you just can't quite think about diving into? Well, this is your chance! Or you could twist this and scrap about something you want to do "new" in your, or loved one's, life... a new job, a new food, a new place to visit, a new musical instrument? The possibilities on this challenge are endless!
Also, if you are in need of some ideas, please be sure to scan through the years of techniques the team has added over on the techniques blog. You are SURE to find something new, and inspirational, over there!
This challenge is running from today through the 29th. When you add the link for your work could you also include the "something" new" you are doing, so we can share with the group! Kim - "I don't often use fabric on my layout and with Noel putting all of these great fabric swatches in our kits I knew I needed to get more comfortable with it so... I used one of the many techniques that technique queen Jana showed us on the T&T blog and came up with these stitched flowers. I used the fabric in the Paper Doll kit, trimmed out petals and stitched them to my layout."

Michele - "I decided to try V's technique of gluing down vintage book/music paper and painting over it with white paint. I am not usually an artsy scrapper so it was a stretch."

Noel - "I am always in awe of the fabulous ideas the DT comes up with around here...but I always think "I don't have time to do that". When I saw Jana's 5 minute loopy flowers, I knew that was something I could try. I love how these ended up looking kind of like Christmas ribbon candy."

Julie - "I loveeeee clouds but every time I have tried I feel they suck! Soooo, I saw the technique and just gave it a

Jana - "I sew on paper all the time, but It's been since 7th grade that I've made an attempt at an actual sewing project. This year, I would like to sew something besides paper. . . something for my home or for my kids.
I didn't have pictures for this page, so I snagged some from a clipart site online.
The new product on my page are the June Bug Woolies flowers. I've been eyeing them forever and finally broke down and bought them just for this challenge.
The new-to-me technique I tried on this page was to make my own Thickers, just like Michele Kovack showed us on the Tip & Technique blog awhile back. I LOVED doing these and will definitely try this again soon."

Also, the new February kit, "Object of my Affection", is up for sale this morning! I'm not to sure how long this will last, so you might want to scoop one up quickly!! :)

Happy New year everyone! I hope you rang in 2010 in a safe and sane way with your loved ones near! I stayed home in my sweats and played Wii...woohoo...nothing like comfort in my book!

Today we have a new challenge for you, and it's a SUPER fun one! We wanted to incorporate a bunch of elements from the Paper Doll kit (although you DO NOT have to use it to join us). We are calling this one the Sugar and Spice Challenge and it is running from today through the 22nd.
There are a few requirements for the challenge and here they are:
SUGAR = Bling
SPICE = Brads/Buttons
Must include the color PINK
Must have something SOFT on the page = fabric, felt, lace, ribbon, etc.

The "Christmas Movie Quote" Challenge

We are in the home stretch people!! Only 4 more days until Christmas day. WOW!!

We have a fun new challenge for you to work on over the next two weeks...and we are calling it the Christmas movie quote challenge. We all have favorite holiday movies, and of course there are always classic lines which you turn over in your heads throughout the year. So I thought it would be fun to use some of those quotes as titles, or journaling on your scrapbook pages! That is the only requirement...use a Holiday movie quote. :)

Check out the fabulous takes on this from the DT down below. As you can see, we ran the gamut of ideas with this one, from Michele spinning the "Yes Virginia" classic quote, to my use of a summer photo, with a holiday movie message. You can make this challenge your own and spin it how you like. After all, the spirit of the holidays should last throughout the year.

The Merry and Bright Challenge

Happy Holidays everyone!! Yes, it's that time of year again, and you know what, it snowed at my house last night. No biggie for a lot of you, but I live in California, so for us, it was a big deal, even if it was only a very light dusting. :) I am now officially in the Holiday Spirit, so let's do a fun challenge!
Jana had a great idea of doing a "Merry and Bright" theme. So the idea behind this challenge is to simply "bling out" your layout (that rhymes by the way)...or make it merry and bright. :) Use gems, glitter, stickles...etc, to add some "BAM" to your work!
This is running from today, through the 18th. So be sure to add up your links so we can all see you work, and create a slide show.
I know there are 10 million challenge sites out there these days, and our participation has dropped over the last year as people join other DT's and have obligations to their own teams, but I still love doing this site and coming up with unique ideas for scrapping, so hopefully a few of you will join in and make it fun! :)

New Moon Slide

New Moon Challenge

This past week saw the opening night for the second movie in the Twilight Saga, "New Moon," so the designers here at Noel Mignon thought we would give you a little challenge based on the book- but with a twist!

The book "New Moon" by Stephanie Meyer is all about change and moving on. The author stated that the reason behind the title is because whenever there is a new moon, the night is very dark; just like this time in the protagonist's journey in the book. Sometimes when you are going through changes, it's hard to see the end result and if you are going to get your "happy ever after."

Using this thematic element from the book, do a layout based on a major change that happened in your life. It doesn't have to be when life was "dark" for you; not all change is bad or as dramatic as it was for Bella!

Also include:

-the colors black, white, and red
-flowers (like the cover of New Moon)
-text/book paper (it doesn't have to be from the book- I wouldn't ask you to tear up a Twilight book! )
-a charm of some sort (to represent the charms that Edward & Jacob gave Bella)
-a little bit of bling or sparkle (hello- because the vampires are sparkly!)

Home Cookin' Challenge

We have a fun new challenge for you today hosted by our DT memeber Jana! We are calling it the Home Cookin' challenge, since this time of year brings families indoors for celebrations and warm, cozy, comfort food.
For this challenge we want you to scrapbook something having to do with food. Maybe you want to do a page about your favorite family recipe? Your favorite meal as a kid?
Or your dinnertime rituals? But you must follow the recipe listed below:

On your page, you must include:
- Plaid or Checks (in honor of tablecloths, dishtowels, and aprons)
- Metal (think pots and pans, silverware . . . represent it using eyelets, bookplates, paperclips, etc.)
- Circle Element (dishes, cups)
- the color brown or red (the colors of warm, yummy food)

College Slide

College Days Challenge

A few weeks ago my dad took us all to a CAL Berkeley football game. It was a big deal because it was the first time the kids have had a chance to go to a college campus and get the idea about what that means. My dad went to Berkeley and played football there, so he was very excited to take the boys around to various buildings and departments and explain what goes on in each.
Then we made out way to the campus center where the band was warming up for the game. That was AWESOME! The kids were mesmerized (note to self...get them in music lessons ASAP). Then we walked up to the stadium where they had some pre-game stuff going on. We ate hot dogs and then shuffled in for the game. All in all it was a perfect day!
It got me to thinking that we should do a College Challenge. Since this is sort of Homecoming time...I think this is the perfect time to recollect your own college days, a family history at a certain college, your children's "dream school" list. There are various ways to work this challenge, so have fun with it!!

I pulled out all of Noel's past kits to scrap these photos of our day at Brookfield Zoo. I took some inspiration from my daughter's floppy hat. The paper is from the Getaway Kit, as well as the clear arrow, yellow anchor, and pink fuzzy brad. I used a clear circle for our family pic and stitched it down with some embroidery floss. This is from the Rise & Shine kit. The yellow brads and heart rub on are from the Rise & Shine kit too! I pulled out some pink ribbon from the Picnic Basket kit. I love being able to use various bits & pieces on my LO's!

Okay, I gave you all a heads up a few weeks ago that there was a BIG challenge with a BIG prize coming today...and here it is!!! This is going to be one of the very few challenges where I do require you to use a kit to create your work. And this is more of a THANK YOU challenge for all of my wonderful customers who have supported me, and my kit making, over the last few years!!

Awww...yes, school is back in session! Can you feel a collective sigh from all the stressed out moms around the world...LOL! I kid. But man I was so ready for my boys to get back to school. Not that I don't enjoy every moment I spend with them, of course I love them with all my heart. But with 3 boys under 8, it's just VERY loud, and over a three month period that can take it's toll on a mom's nerves :).
So let's roll with the season and get those back to school photos scrapped right off the bat, shall we!? We have some super examples from the DT. Speaking of which we have Danielle Flanders joining us as a GDTM for Sept.! YAY!! And Ms. Kim Moreno has agreed to become a permanent member of the DT...Whoop Whop! So that is exciting!

Did you all know we have a Message Board? We do...and we have some really fun, and very talented members over there! One of whom is Tara Van Moorsel. She is not only a complete kick, but she is super inspiring when it comes to scrapping too! So for this challenge I really wanted to lift something of hers.
This is the LO we chose. You can go various ways with this, you can go the "sketch" route, which most of the DT took, or you can go the monochromatic route for your projects. Or maybe you are inspired by the wedding theme...whatever you want to "lift" from this LO, that is the challenge over the next few weeks.

Why I Scrapbook Challenge!

So let's document it. The why. Why did you do this. Why did you spend hours upon hours, and fill book upon book with memories? What was the motivation...the push?

Somewhere down the road of life someone will ask that question, and when they (child, grandchild, great-grandchild?) come across the page stating the reasons it will be quite the treasure won't it!? My grandmother scrap booked back in the 50's and 60's. Hers were mostly newspaper clippings of my dad and uncle in the local paper for school or sports achievements, or Boy Scout activities. Unfortunately I don't have those books, but I did get to look through them when I was little, and it was cool to feel the family "time travel" aspect of it. To see my grandfather, who died before I was born, standing with his sons. To see great grandparents or uncles and aunts I never met in family situations with family members who were still living. Somehow I felt the connection. So to me the "why" is just as, if not more, important as the "what" you are scrapping. So tell us about it!
